Meet Our Staff

Dr G.A. Williams

He was ordained in 1981 by Progressive Baptist District Association.  In 1983, he received his Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies from San Diego State University.  In 1989, he obtained a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Linda Vista Baptist Bible College. In 1992, he accepted the call to pastor the church where he continues to serve, Victory Baptist Church.  In 1995, he received his Masters in Theological Studies from Bethel Theological Seminary.
 In 2007, he earned his Doctorate in Ministry (Expository Preaching) from Trinity Theological Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana.  In May of 2021, he will obtained a second Doctorate in Ministry from Southern California Seminary. He is married to Judy Annette Williams, has 4 children and 11 grandchildren.

Luther Smith

Minister
Born in Oklahoma but raised in California, Rev. Smith is the middle son of a navy family.  He Attended Lincoln High School, the University of Washington and the Southern CA Bible Institute.  Rev. Smith has been a Greater Victorian since 2001.

Sonja Anderson

Minister
Sonja has served the Greater Victory family for 16 years along with her family.  She serves in the Prayer/Discipleship/Women's Ministries as Prayer Leader, New Members class facilitator and Bible teacher.  She believes in serving God's people, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus-1 Thes 5:16-18. 

Reggy Woods

Minister of Music/Head Deacon
Reggy Woods is the Director of Worship Ministries. He and his wife Sabrina have served as a team in this capacity for over 25 years.  Both have a love for the Lord and a deep desire to share with others the heart of worship.

Sandra Davis

Admin Assistant/Children's Ministry
Sister Davis has been a member of Greater Victory Church since 2008. She was born and raised in San Diego and has served as the church secretary since 2017.

Meet the Deacons

Wesley Williams

Deacon/Trustee
Deacon Williams joined GVBC in 2014 and became a Trustee a few years later.  He is married, has 4 children and 10 grandchildren.  Dcn Williams retired from the city of SD and is currently a coach and USA Track & Field hurdle chairman.

Samuel Stewart

Deacon
Deacon Stewart was born in Chicago, IL.  He moved to San Diego in 1984 and has been serving the Lord at Greater Victory since 2005.

James Hendley

Deacon
Deacon Hendley accepted Christ in Texas back in 2003.  He joined the GV family in 2005 with his daughter and was ordained in 2012.  Dcn Hendley has  profound love for God and serving His people. 

Rodney Harris

Deacon
Ordained in 2015, Deacon Harris has been with Greater Victory for more than 7 years.  He was born in Baltimore, has 3 children and loves the Lord.
